'THE FOOL' TAROT CARD

The Fool also known as Dionysus was the child of Zeus, king of the Greek Gods and Semele a mortal woman.

The Fool is the quintessential child. He comes across as innocent, but don’t let that innocence fool you. The Fool is very smart and because of his child like behavior he has been known to tell the truth, even when others, like adults are afraid too. The Fool gives you permission to be your inner child. It helps you find that inner child and be comfortable with it.

The Fool helps us find the answers we need, regardless of whether those answers run beneath the wisdom of society, these answers may very well be the opposite of what an adult might suggest. In other words don’t conform to what society thinks, listen to your inner child and it may give you the answers you are looking for.

The Fool can represent many things, the most common are new opportunities, adventures, and of course new beginnings. Under the right circumstances the card can also represent passion and pleasure as well as thoughtlessness, rashness, and unlimited possibilities. Of course it all depends on where in the spread the card decides to show itself, and the question the fool is supposed to answer.
For example if you are asking about your job and the Fool shows up in the Hopes and Fears spot it could possibly mean you are tired of your current job and are looking for a new one, but you may be afraid to quit and start over again. Another example could be if you have been sick and undergoing some type of treatment, you are starting to get better, and you want to know if you will stay healthy the card may show up in the Final Outcome position, meaning you are starting new.

The Fool more often than not means there is a new beginning coming for you, however, you may not know when or where this new beginning will happen, just remember that this does not automatically mean it will be a good new beginning, but it will be one that is needed. So don’t be afraid of it.
